Meet Sara

Sara’s journey in music started with the recorder in fourth grade music class. She loved the recorder so much that she chose to be in the recorder ensemble held after school. Like many kids, she chose to enter her school band in sixth grade, where she traded in her recorder for a trumpet.

She played the trumpet (and for a brief period, flute) all through middle school, high school, and received a full scholarship for trumpet in college. Sara graduated with a bachelor’s of music education in 2009, a master’s of education with an emphasis in technology in 2013, and a master’s of music in music education in 2015.

Sara has taught general music for grades 3-12 across two different schools and now works in higher education. However, her passion will always be school-aged general music and displayed through her shop on Teachers Pay Teachers.

These visuals are great to help my first graders see the rhythm to “Bee, Bee, Bumblebee“. They have quickly picked up the visual of one and two sounds on a beat.

Enjoy watching your students learn rhythm through fun visuals!

These rhythm stories are so cute! Perfect for balancing literacy skills with rhythm. Students can practice reading the words and then practice matching the rhythms with the words and their syllables.

Perfect for teaching literacy and music at the same time!

Thank you! This is the perfect resource for teaching students recorder. It’s arguably better than traditional recorder books. My students love using it.
